The Danish goalie has been backed to set new records during his time in the Scottish Premiership by former Parkhead hero Thomas Gravesen ahead of his move.
Kasper Schmeichel will smash Scottish records for the least goals conceded when he signs for Celtic, former Hoops star and Danish countryman Thomas Gravesen has predicted.
Gravesen said: "I actually see Kasper beating the record for the fewest goals scored against him - that's how good I still think he is. By joining a club like Celtic, it shows that Kasper knows his career is far from over yet. He will get plenty of opportunities to prove that there. It's the Scottish league, yes, but you play in the Champions League every single year and you have a battle for the title every year too. So for me, it's a no-brainer.
"Although everything is about Celtic and Rangers, it's a very well-supported league. The smaller clubs always want to prove themselves against the big clubs and so the stadiums will be full when Celtic and Rangers come to visit. They always hope they can beat Celtic or Rangers."
