The duchess met with fire survivors and those who lost loved ones.
On June, 14, 2017, a fire broke out in the 24-story Grenfell Tower residential building in North Kensington, West London. A total of 72 people died and more than 70 others were injured.The memorial Tuesday took place at the foot of Grenfell Tower and consisted of prayers, readings, and choir performances. Before the service, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with survivors of the fire and those who lost loved ones.
The organization previously held memorial services in 2018 and 2019 and facilitated visits to the site for the bereaved and survivors during the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2017, the Duke of Cambridge accompanied Queen Elizabeth II to meet with those affected. He and wife Kate also met with Grenfell survivors in November 2019, during a visit to mark the launch of the National Emergencies Trust, of which William is patron.To the memorial today, Kate wore a dreamy midi dress which featured black buttons and a built-in belt. She paired it with black-and-white pumps with a front strap and a beige clutch bag.
