Kate Middleton and Princess Anne are all smiles at first ever royal engagement together
Kate Middleton and Princess Anne were all smiles as they arrived at the headquarters for the Royal College of Midwives and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London.
At the RCM and RCOG headquarters, the two royals heard about the ways in which the organisations are working together to improve maternal health care, and ensuring women are receiving the safest care possible at one of the most significant times in their lives. They chatted to key partners of the Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth collaboration about the development of the national approach to the monitoring and safety of fetal wellbeing during labour, and the way in which the experiences of mothers and clinical staff alike are informing this approach as well.
"That's what the media is interested in. That's hard sometimes to deal with. But there was no social media in my day, and it's probably made it more difficult."
