Princess Kate Releases First On-Camera Message Since Queen Elizabeth's Passing
The clip was for the England Rugby team, the Red Roses, of whom she is the royal patron.
"Hello, everyone, I wanted to take a moment to wish the Red Roses all the very best of luck for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand," Kate says, smiling in the video shared on England Rugby's Twitter page. "I had so much fun with you all at Twickenham earlier this year, and I cannot wait to see how you get on during the tournament."
In the video, Kate wears a red tweed blazer over a white top and accessorizes with a gold rose-shaped brooch and gold drop earrings.She adds that she will be "setting my alarm clock early" to cheer the team on as they compete in New Zealand. "Good luck for the weeks ahead," she says. Prince Harry was previously the patron of the Rugby Football League and England Rugby, but this February, after heThat month, Kate and Prince William took their eldest son, Prince George, to the England vs. Wales Six Nations rugby match in London's Twickenham Stadium.
The game marked some friendly competition between the Prince and Princess of Wales, as Kate is the patron of the English rugby team, while William is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union. England ended up the winner.
