Former Liberal candidate Katherine Deves says she was targeted by protesters who were “shouting” and “shoving” people at a Young Liberals event on Friday night.
Ms Deves said the pub room had been “invaded” by a group of young people who began to use “defamatory slurs” against her, with the protesters shouting and “shoving” people.
“Someone who filming it was pushed down the stairs and damaged their ankle,” she told Sky News Australia.“It’s an absolute attack on freedom of association, freedom of speech, freedom of belief.”
