Katie Allan, from Giffnock, died by suicide while serving a 16-month sentence for a drink driving offence at His Majesty's Young Offenders Institution Polmont near Falkirk.
The mum of a young Scots woman who took her own life at a Young Offenders Institution has paid tribute to her daughter ahead of hearing into her death.
It’s claimed that the 21-year-old first offender was being bullied at His Majesty's Young Offenders Institution Polmont, near Falkirk. She passed away in June 2018. She said: “As we attend court today we take you with us in our hearts and by our sides, as we do all young people who have died in Scottish Prisons.”
His family have been campaigning for answers as to why he was able to take his own life despite being flagged as a suicide risk.
