From advice to alternative careers, the Man Utd Women skipper opens up about life in Red
Manchester United captain Katie Zelem offered MMA fighter Jack Cartwright words of inspiration about leadership and commitment to sport while being put through her paces with the pads and gloves at his gym Wayfarer Academy in Longsight.
Since re-joining the club in the 2019-20 season, Zelem has become an integral part of the squad's success, having taken the armband in their debut season in the Women’s Super League. How about life away from the pitch? “I love seeing my friends, seeing my family. I’m lucky that all my friends and family are in Manchester," she added. "I like going to the spa to relax and chill out. I think football is really full on and not just physically but mentally tiring too, so it's nice to just get away from seeing the world of football.”
