'Keep that dream alive': PM announces $688 million HomeBuilder scheme

Australians looking to build or renovate in the second half of the year will be able to get $25,000 from the federal government as part of a scheme aiming to keep the construction industry moving. 9News

The $688 million HomeBuilder package is available to owner-occupiers who sign a contract to start building or substantially renovating their property after June 4.

"Twenty-five thousand dollars to support those Australians whose dream it was to build their home or to do that big renovation," Mr Morrison said. "A dream that they thought might have been crushed by the coronavirus. We are here to tell them we are going to keep that dream alive for them and the dreams alive of the jobs and the builders and apprentices and tradies, all of those who depend on this critical industry across the country."
