A Sunshine Coast woman has denied being responsible for the deaths of two young men while they were repairing a broken-down bus. Kelly Renee Liddicoat, 44, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of dangerous driving causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance at the start of her District Court trial in Maroochydore on Monday.

She is accused of causing the deaths of Lleyton Bartlett, 22, and Aaron Pitt, 25, on Nambour Connection Rd at Woombye in April 2022. Prosecutors allege she was driving a white BMW that fatally struck the men. It will be alleged Liddicoat was affected by prescription drugs at the time and witnesses saw her driving erratically, crown prosecutor Rebecca Marks told the jury.
