NRL: Sacked Broncos coach Kevin Walters has fought back tears as he bid farewell to the club.
While Walters did not answer any questions from the waiting media, he did share a few words as the 56-year-old reflected on his proudest moments at Red Hill.
The Broncos CEO went on to single out Walters for the “enormous contribution” he made to the club, adding that he would remain at Brisbane as a club ambassador. “I think we’re all indebted for those that started this great club and I was fortunate enough to play here as a player and in the last four years as the head coach, I’ve been an assistant coach here as well.
Walters said his “proudest moment” was “probably” last year’s grand final, which Brisbane lost 26-24 in heartbreaking fashion to Penrith.Who will be the next Broncos coach? | 00:58
