Good news!
National Highways bosses have outlined a multi-million-pound package of repairs and improvements to Lancashire and Cumbria’s busiest roads over the next nine months.
The cash is earmarked for projects across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria up to the end of March 2024. This package is in addition to the major infrastructure developments in construction or in development such as the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine and the M6 Lune Gorge projects.Alan Shepherd, National Highways’ North West Regional Director, said: "Our network provides vital connections for thousands of drivers each day.
Minister for Roads, Richard Holden said: "Over £100 million of investment in one year will ensure roads across the North West are maintained, repaired and improved so those who use roads across the North West enjoy can safe, reliable journeys. This significant investment across the North West over the next year will keep the economy moving and region connected.”
