The importance of addressing climate change has never been greater. Despite global efforts, a new UN Climate Change report concludes that initiatives to lower global greenhouse gas emissions are insufficient; current efforts to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by the end of the century may not be enough.To keep this goal alive, companies, governments, and citizens must unite to prioritize solutions that combat climate change over the next eight years.
"Even though we can leverage all these capabilities, we know that we cannot do it alone," said Lorena Dellagiovanna, Chief Sustainability Officer at Hitachi. "We need to bring people together. The challenge is massive, but given the will and with collective action, human beings are more than capable of building a sustainable future," said Dellagiovanna.
