The youngsters joined the session run by Rossendale Rugby Union Football Club
More than 90 children and young people who access the Holiday and Food programme in Rossendale enjoyed an afternoon’s free training session with a sports club.
The session took place at Whittaker Park in Rawtenstall on Thursday, August 17, providing a unique experience for HAF attendees. The HAF programme provides at least four hours of activities a day, including a meal, over 16 days of the school summer holidays as well as four days for the Easter and Christmas holidays.Clubs deliver a diverse range of activities, including football, tennis, rugby, gymnastics, athletics, rounders, basketball, swimming, paddleboarding, canoeing and fishing.
Gary McEwan, HR Director at Interfloor, said: “We believe in the power of community and the potential of the younger generation. “We hope to inspire even more young people from across the county through the awards too, as both headline sponsor and sponsor of the Primary School of the Year category.”
