The actor was forced to stop a matinee performance of Prima Facie.
Reportedly, the performance began 10 minutes late before Comer addressed the audience and the curtain was lowered marking the end of the show. An announcement was then made following Comer's speech that told audience members to stay seated until producers came to a decision on whether the matinee would be cancelled or if it would proceed with an understudy taking Comer's place..
It comes as New York's air quality was put in the "very unhealthy" category as smoke travelled south from Canada's ongoing wildfires. At least 13 US states have issued air quality alerts, impacting an estimated 115 million people.
