We chat with KillingIt stars Craig Robinson & Claudia O’Doherty about returning to the hit Peacock comedy for a hilarious new hustle in season 2:

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Killing It is back for a new season on Peacock. Created by Brooklyn Nine-Nine showrunner Dan Goor and writer/producer Luke Del Tredici, Killing It is a biting exploration of the American Dream set in the Florida Everglades. For Killing It season 2, the show’s signature snakes have been swapped out for a new hustle; still, the series’ humor and wit are intact, pointing to a second season just as funny and exciting as the first.

Craig Robinson: That's actually a question more for writers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici. I just see the script and go, “Yeah, let's go. Let's do that.” I could be like, “Ehh,” but so far it’s been all good. I trust them, and they love touching all these social issues, and they love getting us into all kinds of situations, as you can see from even just these first few episodes. The direction it's going turned us all for a loop; I'm just glad we're out of the swamp.

I saw an old interview where you said an alligator was caught on set in the first season. Was this a nod to that in any way, or is it just a coincidence? Claudia O'Doherty: It was very fun to get to express some of Jillian’s untapped rage which, it turns out, she has so much of. That was really fun. It was also very shocking to me to be in stunt rehearsals and beating a stuntman up with a rubber steering wheel; that was very surprising.

That carries over to LA when we were shooting this season. I try to stay on stage, especially if I know we're getting off a little early. Now, it’s not as much as I will be doing [when] I'm not working. I had two shows last night, a show Sunday when I landed from Miami, and I’ve got two shows tonight. But I try to keep it going.

Craig Robinson: Mike Mitchell, he did this move—oh my God. She told me. She was like, “Get ready.” I didn't know him yet, but I'm glad we had him. But, yeah, Tim Bagley I go back with, and it's almost impossible [not to laugh]. Even when his line isn’t funny yet, you’re just sitting there kind of almost crying. So yeah, there were some times for sure.
