The Boardwalk at Towne Lake is getting a lot sweeter as Kilwins makes its way to the shopping center, serving treats like ice cream, chocolates and more.

Kilwins is planning a Cypress location at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake this August according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation listing. The location, 6645 Barker Cypress Road, St. 126, Cypress, is a renovation of a previous location on the boardwalk.Kilwins was founded in 1947 by Don and Katy Kilwin in Petoskey, Michigan, as a bakery and candy shop.

Kilwins, known for their customer service, ice cream and chocolates, has been owned by Wayne and Lorene Rose since 1978. Although it is a franchise, each location is independently operated and owned.
