Kim Kardashian's Latest Magazine Cover Sparks Claims Of Cultural Appropriation: 'You Are Better Than This’ (Pics) (via MTO)
Kim is being called out once again for cultural appropriation, with some followers actually believing that the photo was of a Black woman at first glance. This is not the first time Kim has been raked over the coals for darkening her skin to appear to look more "ethnic." She did the same two years ago for her KKW Beaty brand and was forced to issue an apology.
"I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off," Kim told the New York Times at the time. "But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it."
