Buckingham Palace has now detailed the route King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will take on coronation day, which will be shorter than the procession for Queen Elizabeth II 70 years ago.

King Charles III and his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort will be crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September last year.

The King’s Procession will see the couple travel to Westminster from Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, which will be drawn by six Windsor Greys.of The King and The Queen Consort. The coach was created for the late Queen Elizabeth to commemorate her 60 years on the throne back in 2012.

King Charles and Camilla, who will be joined by The Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry, will then venture around the east and south sides of Parliament Square to Broad Sanctuary. The couple will take the same route back to Buckingham Palace after the service. This carriage was first used by King George III back in 1762. It was most recently seen during the Pageant of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in June 2022.
