King Charles could be close to repairing his relationship with his son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle but has been urged not to cave to a demand from the couple for an apology from the Royal Family.

Royal insider Dr. Ed Owens, author of After Elizabeth: Can the Monarchy Save Itself? has revealed that the King has indicated to the Sussexes he is open to reconciliation.

"So far, he's done that. He's done that by making it clear, sometimes through back channels. But often, it's through stories that go out to the press, from the palace, that he very much wants to keep the door open to Harry and Meghan, should they decide they want to return."since the couple opted to"step back" from royal duties in March 2020 and move to the United States to pursue commercial careers.

Despite remaining open to reconciliation, Mr Owens advised the King not to give the couple a requested"apology" for their treatment when they were still working royals. "Whether there's anything more he can do, his hands are somewhat tied, because beyond trying to make specific concessions to Harry and Meghan, of course, they have requested an apology from the Royal Family for the way that they were treated," he said.
