Charles and Camilla wave from the balcony - latest
The last coronation in the UK occurred 70 years ago in 1953, when Queen Elizabeth was crowned at the age of 27 following the death of her father.at 11am. Following the service, which was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and attended by around 2,000 invited guests, the newly crowned King and Queen embarked on their return journey, travelling in the Gold State Coach.
Millions of people tuned in to watch the celebrations on television, while big screens were also been put up across Greater Manchester and the rest of the UK so people can watch the proceedings together. Thousands of street parties will also be put on across Saturday, Sunday and Monday to mark the special occasion.
