Golden State guard Klay Thompson has given the Bay Area so many memories, but he'll be quick to forget this playoff stretch.

Thompson, who has a history of heroic Game 6 performances, fired a shot from behind the arc that would have been better served as a pass to teammate Donte DiVincenzo, who recovered the rebound. DiVincenzo’s luck was just as bad, as the Lakers' Anthony Davis swatted the shot under the basket with ease and right to teammate Austin Reaves, who took two dribbles and heaved a deep shot from beyond the half-court line.Thompson is not responsible for Reaves’ heave going in.

It’s not as if the Lakers had employed some strategic genius to craft a defensive scheme that would ensure Thompson’s downfall. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Time and time again, Thompson’s relatively open looks would clank off the rim, and if the Warriors somehow secured the rebound and got the ball back to him, he’d put on an encore for his hometown crowd with another brick.

Draymond Green diagnosed that Thompson"rushed" his shots on Friday night."You're so surprised when you get an open look, because they're just draped over him; they're not helping, they're not leaving his body," Green said after the loss."So I felt like then once he would get an open one, he would rush it."
