Veteran journalist David Koch has divulged his next steps after announcing his departure from Sunrise.

The veteran presenter made the shock revelation on Monday morning, telling viewers he had decided to “hang up the boots” to focus on his family and some other big roles in his life.

He and his wife Libby founded the content marketing agency Pinstripe Media over a decade ago, which focuses on start-ups, business and finance. It includes a portfolio of media assets including popular websites under his name; Kochie’s Business Builders and Your Money and Your Life, which provide tips to Australians looking to shore up their finances either personally or in business.The 67-year-old is also behind the business streaming channel ausbiz, which he co-founded with Kylie Merritt in 2019.

“It’s time for me to work business hours, and for Libby and I to have a bit more flexibility to enjoy our burgeoning family, to travel and focus on our family business interests in Pinstripe Media and the Ausbiz business channel,” he said.Koch is also chairman of the Port Adelaide AFL club, a position he has been in since 2012.
