Australia 's 19-year-old sensation, young spinner Sam Konstas , is set to become the youngest Australia n player to feature in a Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground ( SCG ) when Australia hosts India in the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series on Friday. Konstas made his debut on Boxing Day at the age of 19 years and 85 days, becoming the fourth-youngest Australia n first-gamer ever.

He will surpass Gervys Hazlitt's record as the youngest Australian Test player at the SCG since December 1907. Only four 19-year-olds have played a Test for Australia at the SCG: Hazlitt (1907), John Cottam (1887), J.J. Ferris (1887), and Craig McDermott (1984). Captain Pat Cummins, who witnessed Konstas's debut, feels a sense of age due to Konstas's youthful energy
