Increasing turbulence is knocking a beloved instant noodle offering off Korean Air's economy menu.
Korea n Air says it is removing a popular instant noodle from its economy menu from mid-August due to increasing turbulence.
Cups of Shin Ramyun instant noodles, a favourite among Korean Air travellers over the years, will no longer be available for economy-class passengers from August 15, a spokesperson for the Seoul-based airline said.As the world continues to burn fossil fuels, global temperatures are rising, and turbulence is just another natural phenomenon that's affected by that warming.
In this week's announcement, the airline added it had "renewed" economy's snack options to instead include offerings like sandwiches, corn dogs and hot pockets.Korean Air told the BBC that the noodles are brought individually to business- and first-class travellers, reducing spill risks. In a statement, Korean Air said that since 2019 the number of times turbulence had occurred on its flights had doubled.
