Russian politicians are relishing the downfall of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, casting the outgoing British leader as a man who orchestrated his own downfall and finally got his just reward for supporting Ukraine against Russia's invasion.
Other foreign partners have expressed cool reactions to Mr Johnson's departure, with several noting the at times fraught relations he had with neighbouring EU nations following the UK's decision to leave the bloc.
"Our position is that we should endeavour to seek solutions as regards to the implementation of the protocol." The incoming leader of Northern Ireland's Sinn Fein, Michelle O'Neill, said it had been an "utter absurdity" that the people of the UK had been "subjected to Boris Johnson for any length of time".
The Northern Irish leader did not mince her words, calling Mr Johnson "a figure of absolute disrepute".Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, an outspoken critic of the outgoing prime minister, celebrated the end to a chaotic several months in UK politics.
