A former police officer who was found guilty of the manslaughter of 95-year-old Clare Nowland has made an application to the Industrial Relations Commission after he was sacked.

Kristian White had pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, and his trial in the NSW Supreme Court began on November 11.White had been suspended from his job with pay for about 18 months, but was notified following the guilty verdict that he would be suspended without pay. NSW Police Commissioner Webb announced on December 3 that she had removed him from the police force, citing at the time that she did not "have confidence in the officer's suitability to continue as a police officer."
In a statement, a NSW Police spokesperson said the organisation was aware Mr White had filed an application in the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales against NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb but couldn't comment further.
