Clare Nowland’s family still can’t believe their 95-year-old matriarch was killed by a police officer who remains free, and is challenging his dismissal from the force, while a judge considers whether or not to send him to jail. Former senior constable Kristian James Samuel White, 35, left out the front door of the NSW Supreme Court for what could be the last time on Friday afternoon, remaining on bail awaiting sentence for manslaughter.

Kristian White says he is sorry over Taser death of Clare Nowland, but should still have job. His departure came after Nowland’s children and grandchildren delivered emotional statements to the court. Videos played during the trial captured White saying “nah, bugger it” before he “got her” with his taser — words that will forever haunt Nowland’s daughter Gemma Murphy.
