Busch cites Mark Martin, Tony Stewart as examples of proper racing etiquette.
“I had a teammate that I talked to as a kid that raced for me for two years in the Truck series who I got into it with last week,” Busch continued. “I tried to talk to him about those exact same issues and lo and behold it happened to me three races into a new year somewhere else. I’m done talking to them.”
Busch said his son, Brexton, already knows he can’t run over someone during a race because if he does, he will get sent to the rear of the field. However, he noted when it’s done in NASCAR’s three national touring series there were no repercussions. Busch said it was Stewart who sat him down on two different occasions to talk with him about racing etiquette. He said he had talked with about 14 drivers who had come through Kyle Busch Motorsports. Some listened, while others didn’t.
“When it comes to the time in which it starts affecting other people’s races and such, then, again, I think it leaves the door open for you to go punch somebody in the face,” Busch said.
