Hollywood production giant Universal Television could soon be shooting up to four shows, worth as much as $200 million, in Australia each year, according to senior vice-president of production Richard Ross., Mr Ross said “we’re committed down here”.is set in Los Angeles but filmed in Melbourne and regional Victoria. Series creator David Appelbaum, flanked by Victorian creative industries minister Danny Pearson and federal arts minister Paul Fletcher., a biopic series about the star of the Netflix documentary series, a 10-part drama about a criminal on the run who poses as the new reverend of a smalltown church.

Mr Ross said the company’s production slate in Australia was “scalable” and would be driven by its relationship with its local production arm, Matchbox, but he anticipated it would “probably be three to four television series a year – that’s a lot of production. Each one would be $50-$70 million of spend, so close to $200 million.
