LAFC said the clubs are planning to reschedule for a later date at the Rose Bowl, but there is no word yet on when the match will take place. Over 70,000 tickets had been sold for Saturday’s game, league sources said. LAFC added that tickets purchased for the game will be honored when it is rescheduled.
Saturday’s matchup would have been the 18th edition of the “El Tráfico” rivalry series, which the LA Galaxy lead 7-5-5. LAFC, the defending MLS Cup champion, is also scheduled to play the Galaxy on April 16 and Sept. 16.It’s no coincidence that MLS decided to kick the season off with El Tráfico — it’s the biggest and best soccer rivalry in the league. Over 70,000 fans had bought tickets to watch Saturday evening’s match at the Rose Bowl, the home of the Galaxy between 1996 and 2002.
