he provided the Chinese embassy in CanberraBut further details of the parliamentary trip to Beijing were exposed on Monday by Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson inwhich showed the deputy Labor leader failed to disclose $6,191 charged to the taxpayer for a portion of the travel expenses.

Mr Marles did not disclose that China Matters funded his accommodation and return flight, while fellow frontbencher Tanya Plibersek and Liberal MP Ted O’Brien – who both attended the trip – declared the expenses on the parliament’s Register of Members’ Interests list. “Richard’s been very very clear around his position around a more aggressive and assertive China and some of the challenges into the future,” she said.
