It'll be up to Canberrans — and the opposition and crossbench — to hold the party to account for another four years, so let's look at some of the things it said it would do during a seventh term in government.There was a lot of talk about Labor's major projects well before the election, including the northside hospital, new stadium, and new convention centre — and, of course, the party's continued commitment to extend light rail southside.
New South Wales government to upgrade the rail line between Canberra and Sydney to reduce travel time.A promise to build 5,000 new public and affordable rental dwellings by 2030 was made, as part of a broader target of constructing 30,000 new homes by the end of the decade. Pledges included a new six-bed perinatal mental health residential unit, the hiring of more midwives, and expanding access to the midwifery-led continuity of care program.Free medical imaging at the Belconnen walk-in centre and having specialist mental health nurses at some of the walk-in centres were also promised.
The party also said it would look at expanding the container deposit scheme to include wine bottles, and the option for households to order larger green waste bins.
