A Labor minister has been taken apart after he pulled a stunt designed to make a dig at the Coalition and its supposed funding cuts.
The Albanese government has been accused of looking “worried” about the Coalition after a minister pulled a bizarre stunt on live television.
The Sky News panel of Tom Connell, Andrew Clennell, Olivia Caisley and Kieran Gilbert were left stunned by Mr Gorman’s purchase, particularly how the scissors managed to make it through studio security. “You've already seen confirmation from the Coalition that they do plan to cut things like the Housing Australia future fund,” the Minister said.Mr Gorman continued: “This is a figure that the Coalition generated - $315 billion, of what they said was unnecessary spending,” he said.
Clennell, the Sky News Political Editor, responded bemusedly, saying he thought the Coalition figure was $100 billion rather than the $315 billion Mr Gorman was referring to. Clennell said the stunt showed signs the Labor Party were looking “pretty worried at the moment”, a claim Mr Gorman skirted around.
