A Labor MP was left squirming on live tv during a Q&A debate on negative gearing, when host Stan Grant pointed out her vested interest in current rules not changing.

Labor MP Michelle Ananda-Rajah has been called out for owning multiple properties on Monday’s Q&A after she labelled Australia’s housing crisis a “supply issue”.

Dr Ananda-Rajah began her argument by defending multiple home ownership and described it as people’s “biggest asset”.“Taxation on housing is a really vexed issue in this country and its principally because your house is your biggest asset and people are highly invested in their homes,” she said. Q&A Host Stan Grant pulled out the number of politicians owning several investment properties. Picture: ABC

She reassured viewers that she rented out her properties, with 40 per cent of voters in her Melbourne inner-south east electorate renting their homes.
