Labor MP for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour has claimed “the Voice couldn’t be further from people’s view up here” as law and order issues continue to impact communities like Alice Springs.
Speaking on radio station 3AW, Ms Scrymgour said, “the Voice couldn’t be further from people’s view up here … because people are under siege in their own home”.“But I think that we can’t have these conversations if there’s all these issues that are impacting on communities like Alice Springs,” Ms Scrymgour said.
Discussing the issue, Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said he thinks the comments made by Ms Scrymgour are a “big development”. “And a big headache for Anthony Albanese as he seeks to convince people that the Voice can make a difference,” Mr Clennell said.
