“This issue has been elevated to one of great importance to them over the past few months,” Mr Welsh told Sky News Australia. “They want something to happen … there is going to be an absolute need for the government to do something serious about the plight of Indigenous people.” A recent Newspoll survey has shown a further decline in support for the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
Support for the Voice to Parliament has dropped two per cent, continuing the downward trend and bringing support to 34 per cent.
