Labor frontbencher Tanya Plibersek says she is “very worried” about the future of those excluded from the JobKeeper package. The government’s wage scheme will pass the parliament today after Industrial Relations Minister Christian Porter struck a deal on safeguards with the unions.

The shadow education minister told Sky News Labor would move amendments to the legislation today, but conceded they will not stand in the way of the bill passing. "You’ve seen with teachers, with universities, with tafe, with childcare, with hospitality, there’s a broad range of the workforce that won’t actually be supported by the measures introduced today,” Ms Plibersek said. "We welcome the approach of wages subsidies, but we are very worried about some of the exclusions.
