Shadow Finance Minister Jim Chalmers says he wants to crack down on the exploitation of foreign workers.

Mr Chalmers has told Sky News the Labor Party wants to bring the temporary worker threshold up to about $65,000 so there’s no financial incentive to hire foreign

workers over locals. He says ‘we shouldn’t be using foreign workers when there are local workers available’ because 'it's good for the economy and good for local businesses'.
