.aclennell says he believes it is likely Labor will secure a narrow victory in the Eden-Monaro by-election, which he says will be a 'massive relief' for AlboMP
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell has predicted a narrow Labor victory in the Eden-Monaro by-election, which he says will be a "massive relief" for Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese. Polls close in the by-election at 6pm after two months of campaigning with the consensus being the result will come down to the wire.
Mr Clennell said it looks like there could be a two per cent swing to Labor. “If that is the case Anthony Albanese will be mightily relieved give him and his Labor colleagues some encouragement that they are at least in the chance for the next federal election”. “If Anthony Albanese were to lose this seat I think unfortunately down the track he’d come under real pressure in terms of a leadership change”.
