National Beverage CEO blames “injustice” for poor quarterly results
National Beverage Corp., the maker of LaCroix sparkling water, reported a drop in quarterly sales for the first time in five years and issued an unusual apology, sending the company’s share price tumbling Friday.
“We are truly sorry for these results,” Chairman and Chief Executive Nick A. Caporella, who is the company’s biggest shareholder, said in a news release. “Negligence nor mismanagement nor woeful acts of God were not the reasons—much of this was the result of injustice!”
