Lake County’s list includes intersections in Mentor, Willoughby, Wickliffe and Concord Township.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Law enforcement agencies in Lake County say the intersections named on the most dangerous list produce some of the highest volumes of traffic.
“Approximately 35,000 vehicles traverse the Reynolds Road corridor each day,” he said. “The intersection at Center Street and Tyler Boulevard sees about 26,000 vehicles per day and the east end of Mentor Avenue ranges from about 17,000 to 23,000 vehicles per day.”“Although at first glance, the statistics look alarming, 32 accidents over the course of the year in an intersection that handles a little under 1.
Willoughby police Det. Lt. John Begovic said the department is not surprised that two intersections in the city made the list. Lake County Sheriff Frank Leonbruno said the Concord Township intersection is a very congested area during morning and evening rush hour.
