Senator Jacqui Lambie has called on the Albanese Government to release a 'plan of attack' to ensure the scrapping of the cashless debit card does not lead to a rise in domestic violence.
Senator Lambie told Sky News Australia on Thursday morning that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had not outlined any plans to ensure its abolishment would not lead to a rise in alcohol-fuelled domestic violence in Indigenous communities.

The government has also been in consultation with the affected communities to explore the future of income management options and other support that may be needed. “The change to that community in three months will bring tears to every Australian’s eyes if you could see what I’ve seen.”
Ms Rishworth defended the government’s cashless debit card decision amid the lifting of the alcohol ban, saying there was “no evidence” to suggest the card reduced alcohol misuse.
