Lancashire police officer faces jail after admitting having four-month sexual relationship with victim of crime
A Lancashire Constabulary police officer who admitted having a four-month sexual relationship with a victim of crime has been warned he could face jail.
This followed a report she had also made to Lancashire Constabulary as a 'victim of a crime'. The disgraced officer was given bail until his sentencing hearing in the New Year, but was told he could face prison, the M.E.N reports. Judge Alan Conrad KC warned Coathup not to read anything into the fact that he was granting him unconditional bail. "You may well face a custodial sentence," the judge said during a hearing at Manchester Crown Court.
The judge adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be compiled. Coathup is due to be sentenced in February.
