The building will go under the hammer later this month

Victory House, a six-storey building on Victoria Viaduct in the city is being sold off to make way for the new University of Cumbria campus. The landmark building has been given a guide price of £350,000 and will appear in Pugh’s online auction on September 20.

Located close to Carlisle city centre, Victory House is opposite the site of the flagship £78m University of Cumbria ‘Carlisle Citadels’ campus that is due to open in 2026, with work on the first phase of the development starting later this year.

“This is a fantastic and rare development opportunity and, subject to gaining the relevant planning consent, one that could see Victory House play an important role in the university and in the economy of the city itself.” The building is also within 200 metres of the city centre and Carlisle railway station and is surrounded by popular bars, restaurants and shops. Next month’s Pugh auction, which includes Victory House, has new lots added daily and will be held on 20 September at www.pugh-auctions.com.
