They say you should keep politics out of sport, but Larne have been bucking the trend in a comical way.
Tiernan Lynch;s side have already won the County Antrim Shield and remain in contention in the league and Irish Cup. They currently hold a two-point lead over Linfield at the top of the Premiership with just six games remaining, and play Cliftonville in the semi-finals of the cup at the end of this month.Larne are targeting a rousing finale, and they want as many fans to carry them to glory.
A number of election-style posters have been displayed around the town asking for the public to 'back' the team during their crunch end to the season. Larne owner Kenny Bruce said: "This is one of the best marketing campaigns we have done. Well done folks. Ha ha."
