The posted specs tally with existing rumors, including a face unlock feature powered by a 10.8-megapixel camera found on both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro handsets. However, the larger Pixel 7 Pro, is tipped to gain a new 48-megapixel 5x telephoto camera alongside 50-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel ultrawide modules.
If the leaked specs are correct, this new telephoto camera would provide a more powerful zoom capability than the 4x telephoto currently found on the Pixel 6 Pro. However, it would also force Google to rely on software processing to fill the gap between 4x and 5x. This suggests Google is likely to reveal some image processing improvements if image quality is to be maintained at this zoom range and not dip below the quality level of the Pixel 6 Pro.
