The latest cases of the Chinese coronavirus have been confirmed in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Scotland as authorities struggle to contain the viral outbreak.

There are more than 630 confirmed cases of the coronavirus which can cause pneumonia and can be transmitted from person to person.

Seventeen recorded deaths in China have forced three cities and 20 million residents into lockdown. Beijing has cancelled all large scale Chinese New Year celebrations in an effort to control the spread. There is no vaccine for the virus. Image: AP
