Lawyers warn all AFL clubs could be caught up in racism class action led by Phil Krakouer

Lawyers representing former players in a racism class action against the AFL are looking to include all clubs in the competition.

Lawyers are looking to expand a class action against the AFL that alleges it failed to protect players from racial abuse.The lawyers are hoping to submit a new Statement of Claim which would need to be approved by the Victorian Supreme Court .

Kevin Sheedy and Terry Daniher are among of list of high profile AFL figures mentioned in the allegations. It also alleged umpires and match officials did not prevent abuse and that the AFL did not sanction players or spectators for racism, leading to the risk of long-term or permanent harm. The AFL said it was continuing ongoing work against racism and discrimination with its clubs, players, staff and supporters to promote a safe and respectful environment at all levels.
