Lebanon security is enforcing crowd control measures as protesters attempt to reach the parliament where a vote of confidence is being held for the new government.
Beirut authorities sprayed tear gas and water cannon at protesters who were throwing debris and attempting to pull down barricades erected in the streets.
Anti-government demonstrations began in October 2019, protesting proposed new taxes and poor living conditions, and have regained momentum amidst Lebanon’s current economic crisis. Image: AP
