And as of Monday, four of those teams are well positioned in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ state rankings. Kimball is ranked third in 5A, while 21-4 Faith Family and 18-7 Carter are in the top five of 4A. Madison is the top-ranked team in 3A. Thomas said it’s because the best players stay in Dallas. His Faith Family team, which features three McDonald’s All American game nominees , are a representation of that. Same goes for Kimball senior Arterio Morris, a five-star Texas signee who’s remained in Dallas despite numerous opportunities to play at prep schools in Texas and across the country.
